POOL HEATING FAQ

Q: How does Solar pool Heating Work?

A: Solco's design is very simplistic. There are no moving parts and no maintenance is required.
Water (pumped by your existing pool pump)flows through the Solco Solar Superheat panels. The panels are constructed from high impact, black UV resistant, Polypropylene, that has channels built in. The panels attract heat from the sun and passes the heat on to the water as it flows through the channels. Click here to see what a standard system looks like.

Q: How long does it take to install a Solco Pool heating system?

A: The installation times vary. It takes around 3-4 hours to install a system where the pump is situated close to the target roof. Where there are long pipe runs or paving to lift on order to pay underground pipes it may take between 4-6 hours to complete. Installations rarely take more than a day to complete.

Q: Will my pump be strong enough?

A: Most existing pumps are good enough to push the water through the system. A 0.75kW pump should suffice for a system with a relative short pipe run going up to a single story roof. When the system involves longer pipe runs or a double story roof, a 1.1kW pump might be preferable.
